I am a basic Linux user, and have been using Ubuntu as my primary distribution until I came across this new enhanced version of Lubuntu, and I must say I’m loving it! It’s snappier even on good hardware.
The only thing I am not very satisfied with is the lack of a fully dark theme right off the bat, and I’m kind of struggling to have to install and configure other software to make it go fully dark.
I tried installing qt5ct but couldn’t make it work right on Lubuntu 20.04 LTS.
Can anybody help?
Might want to search first. Long story short, this is not a simple issue.
I’ve been trying to get a FULLY dark theme for the current Lubuntu version. I googled a lot, tried a lot of instructions but… no luck. The most I got is a PARTIALLY dark theme: it turns dark most of it, but the windows in the file explorer still have a white background. Installing dark themes didn’t work and Tweaks isn’t really useful.
Is there any easy way (and I mean easy: couple of clicks in the settings screen or something) to do it?
(Ps. I found some other threads about more or less …
It seems none of the LXQt apps respect the theme chosen by the user, at least by me. I have and need a dark background, which is respected by various apps I installed, but not by LXQt ones (including the file manager, pcmanfm-qt). Is there a way to have the theme respected?
Also, can we get other themes (there is only 1 dark theme by me).
Really, my eyes hurt quickly otherwise; I could not read PDFs more than a few minutes before pdf readers allowed inverting colors…
After had been a long time Windows 7 desktop users, I finally moved to Lubuntu 20.10,
I use Lenovo E450 i5-5200u, 16GB, upgraded to SSD 1TB Sandisk,
Here is my mapping of Windows 7 applications to Lubuntu 20.10
I use that, and lubuntu will goto dark theme FULLY.
