In LXQT Session Configuration \ Startup has the item
User Folders Update

What feature does it ? Is required for OS work correctly ?

if you mean session settings - autostart - user folders update, then yes, obviously, it updates your folders content visually when contents are changed.

It mainly helps other apps find your directories.
