I am encountering this error while trying to extract a password protected .rar archive.
I already installed p7zip-full and unrar but the problem still remains the same.
You haven’t provided any release details, but Lubuntu now uses pcmanfm-qt which is a different application to pcmanfm though yes it was created by the same author (PCMan).

If the file not has any password is possible the rar file not is compatible.
Try install Peazip for Linux.
