I’m using version 2404 lts. For a few days now, the system has been slow to open folders and files. I also noticed that when I select thumbnail view mode, the 4 to 5 mega photo files do not appear in the thumbnail. Is this a problem with lxqt?
When you say “for a few days now,” it suggests that this is a new behavior, where before these few days, no such problem was occurring. Is that what you mean to express?
If not, then what are you comparing to that makes you think it is slow?
I have configured fstab to read my network folder from my NAS server. I was using the computer outside my network and, although I was using tailscale to stay connected to my personal network, apparently this caused the computer to freeze and behave like this, not opening folders, even those that were not on the network. I returned to my house and Lubuntu started working again as if by magic.
So you have a NAS at home and when you are away, the connection is slower? I mean, isn’t that to be expected?
I will add that network connected drives can cause all sorts of havoc when the network connection fails.
Should it take more than a minute to open my home folder?
With no NAS: no. With a remote NAS and an inconsistent connection: quite possibly.
