sudo passwd root

  1. Enabling the root password is the wrong way. It does not solve your problems, but makes your whole system less secure. (I am missing a dislike-button)
  2. You don’t need to be root to access serial ports. Serial ports are owned by root and normally by the group dialout. Adding your user to the dialout group is the recommended way.
  3. Login as root and run a graphical environment is completely wrong.
  4. This is a forum, not a chat. There is absolutely no need to post line by line.
