Lubuntu without monitor

Hi,

I’m using Lubuntu 20.04 (and 18.04) without a monitor conected, and I have the problem that the resolution is too low

I have installed xserver-xorg-video-dummy, but I can’t get the FHD resolution to appear

How can I make the default resolution FHD?

Also note that xrandr’s effect is temporary, so you’ll want to add all that to an autostart script.

It has not been a good solution :frowning:

The problem is you’re not following the instructions correctly. You can run xrandr by itself to see what the name of the interface is.

Then you run gtf to generate the modeline.

You use this with xrandr --newmode

Then you use xrandr --addmode with the right interface.

And finally you use xrandr --output to actually use it.

The solution has worked, but not completely.
Now if I have the correct resolution, but the desktop has not adapted

Something else may be amiss because it looks to me like you have the right screen area. Maybe change the monitor settings. I’ve run headless before with really no issues whatsoever and no need for the dummy driver. You can see someone else did without it, too, looking at the accepted answer here:

Well, it must be me, because neither the xrandr solution nor modifying /etc/X11/xorg.conf has worked for me

In the second case, I cannot reconnect through TeamViewer 15 (I imagine because the video driver does not respond)
