I am trying to upgrade from Lubuntu 19.10 to Lubuntu 20.04. I ran the following commands:
$ sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade -y
$ sudo do release upgrade
However, I was prompted when the following message: “No new release found.”. I was wondering if I had possibly skipped an important step?

Check the settings in Preferences > Software Updates - Updates tab - select -Long term release only. Then try sudo do-release-upgrade again.
It is possible, that it is not yet activated.
You can try
sudo do-release-upgrade -d

When I tried selecting the long term release only, I got the following error:
There is no development version of an LTS available.
To upgrade to the latest non-LTS development release
set Prompt=normal in /etc/update-manager/release-upgrades.
That works perfectly! Thanks so much for helping me.
