How do I get this camera button to work

Hi
I have purchased an old Lego Studios camera for general use and am planning to take pictures with it through my laptop. it features a capture image button on the shell and was wondering if it is possible to get lubuntu to the point that if I click on it, it will take a screenshot of the capture window or if possible even just take a picture of the video feed.
I’d like to hear anyone’s thoughts on if this is possible and if so, how to get it working.

If I’m correctly interpreting the camera you have, it sounds like it isn’t going to be easy to do much more than run a command in terminal to get a static shot from the camera:
