[With apologies, I somehow accidentally posted this message previously in a Spanish Language channel, though it is in English]
Every time I boot Lubuntu, an error message flashes up: “Failed to Measure Data for Event 1.” From what I can tell, this is related to a Secure Boot problem, but it seems that disabling Secure Boot would be unwise. Is there a way to fix the Failed to Measure Data problem? Thanks in advance.
Just to be clear, Lubuntu seems to load normally after the error message flashes on the screen, but I’d still like to avoid it.
Solved (at least for now) through the following that I arrived at after some experimentation:
- Boot into BIOS
- Disable Secure Boot
- Delete All Secure Boot files (which generates a default set of new files).
- Enable Secure Boot
- Close Out of BIOS and reboot machine normally.
This process not only eliminated the Failed to Measure Data measure but produced a useful banner at the top of the home screen that includes OS Name, Time, and Date. Although I’m not convinced that the fix will stick, so far, so good.

Sadly, it didn’t take long for my fear to be realized here. The Failed to Measure Data Error message now repeats after two or three reboots unless I disable secure boot, which I guess I should not do. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks.
