Paypal takes quite some fee’s for currency conversion 4.5%.
it would be much cheaper with Bitcoin.
We do not accept Bitcoin directly due to market volatility. If you want to donate with cryptocurrency, take the cryptocurrency and convert it to USD and then donate to the Lubuntu Association from PayPal directly instead of using a currency converter.
For legal reasons, we must pay these fees regardless of any provider for currency conversion fees as well as payment processing fees - this is part of legal compliance in the jurisdiction that covers us.

You should accept Bitcoin on Lighting Network or Tether. For those who don’t have a dollar account and live outside the United States, it would make it a lot easier.

We used to have ‘swag’ sold that would match this, but due to costs we did not keep that service up.
There is a lot of extra regulation chaos for companies that handle Bitcoin, which is why we don’t currently accept Bitcoin or crypto payments.
