Upgrading Laptop Memory

This is really a hardware question, but you guys were so helpful yesterday that I think you will be able to answer this question.

I have a Toshiba Satellite L875-S7108 laptop that has 4GB of memory installed in one of the two memory slots. It can handle up to 16GB. Can I upgrade to 16GB by substituting a 16GB stick for the 4GB stick, or do I have to use 2 x 8GB utilizing both slots?
Thanks in advance.

According to this page:
http://www.laptopinventory.com/Laptop_Model.php/Toshiba/Satellite/L875-S7108

you can use 1, 2, 4, 8 and 16 Gb ram memory in every slot.

Greetings.

Thanks for the lead. Since virtually every listing I saw for 16GB memory for the L875 showed it as 2 x 8GB I deduced that perhaps the address lines to each of those memory slots was limited to 8GB. So I have already ordered that combination.

I like finding this supplier though. I see they sell other things, like the battery, that I may have to replace soon. So I know where to get it now.

Thanks again for your help.
