According to Lubuntu - Wikipedia, Lubuntu 20.04 is not supported any more.
After an installation sometimes I have also no sound. This is what I do:
Play music even if there is no sound.
In the panel click on the speaker-symbol, then click on “Mixer”. The window “Volume Control” will appear. Click on the tab-title “Configuration” (it is the last tab). In the drop-down-list I select something where the the word “Speaker” exists.
