Post icon to desktop Lubuntu 20.04

I’m a recovering Windows user and also card-carrying authenticated NEWBIE to Lubuntu trying to learn how to use the product. It ain’t EZ. For example how can pkg icons be posted to the desktop ? Is there a tutorial for newbies ? Thanx.

Just an FYI:

The manual page you offered was for the latest stable release; ie. 21.04

@bewildered-newbie To read the manual for the LTS release you’re using, just change the word stable in the URL to lts and you’ll read the manual page for 20.04 LTS

(on many pages there is no difference, on some it’s rather significant).
