Login screen broken after update from 22.04 lts to 24.04 lts

Hi all.

I’m a lama in linux so please bear with me. Today I updated Lubuntu 22.04 lts to 24.04 lts. After the update the login screen is broken. Seems like a problem with text rendering because there’s not a single letter on the entire screen. So i can only guess based on position which user is which. This is and old computer with Core2Quad CPU and integrated intel graphics.

Any idea how to fix this without reinstalling entire OS?

Thanks a lot!
