How to configure an xsession as default for a user

Hello,
I’ve created a custom.desktop file in /usr/share/xsessions containing a link to a .xsession file in a user’s home directory
Exec=/home/“username”/.xsession
In my system the “usename” user logs in automatically, without inserting user name and password. The automatic login is always performed using the default Lubuntu desktop; if I log out I can choose the custom.desktop configuration and everything works as I expect.
How can I make custom.desktop the default configuration for the “username” user?
I would like to login automatically using my custom configuration.
I’m using Lubuntu 20.04
Thank you very much

Ciro

Found!
I needed only to write the name of the session in the /etc/sddm.conf file.
