How can we install Virtualbox on Lubuntu 22.04?

Hello Everybody,

On the Virtualbox website, there are only the ways to install it on 20.04, 20.10, 21.04 and maybe 21.10.
Please how do you install it on Lubuntu 22.04?

sudo apt install virtualbox

It’s available in Ubuntu repositories…

guiverc@d960-ubu2:/de2900/lubuntu_64$ apt-cache policy virtualbox
  Installed: 6.1.32-dfsg-1build1
  Candidate: 6.1.32-dfsg-1build1
  Version table:
 *** 6.1.32-dfsg-1build1 500
        500 jammy/multiverse amd64 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Thank you very much guiverc

In Qterminal I get

auie@ThinkPad:~$ apt-cache policy virtualbox
  Installiert: (keine)
  Installationskandidat: 6.1.32-dfsg-1build1
     6.1.32-dfsg-1build1 500
        500 jammy/multiverse amd64 Packages

And I don’t find any virtualbox.
Is it alright? May I receive help please?

Download it using the discover software center. Search virtualbox, and then click install. You will be asked to enter your password?

I used the apt-cache policy command to show you details of what I have installed (on my jammy system. It’s purposes was to show package details of what you’ll get.

The command to install it was provided earlier in my response, ie.

sudo apt install virtualbox

It can be installed using Muon Package Manager, or Discover Software as well; use whichever tool you prefer.

Thank you very very much BasilCat and guiverc for your answers,
I’m stupid because I didn’t read the first line of guiverc’s answer…
The problem is that the sign of the person (a dog in case of guiverc) keeps on getting lower if the window don’t show the first part of the message. Therefore on thinks that the sign of represents the begining of the message, but it’s wrong.

I can now find Virtualbox in a Menu, thank you again.

PS : If I asked 4 days ago, it is because I couldn’t find Virtualbox in Discover.
