Can't boot without nomodeset

I have freshly installed Lubuntu 20.04 on my PC but I cannot boot without the ‘nomodeset’ boot option. But somehow I cannot use redshift with nomodeset on.

Things I have tried:

  1. Disabling ‘splash’ boot option (I’ve heard the splash screen might cause the problem.)

Another thing to note, this problem doesn’t seem to occur in Arch or Manjaro, may I ask why?

Edit: forgot to include my hardware. My CPU is AMD A4-6300 without a GPU.
